Is there any way to put a positive way spin on 4:11? I don’t think so. Yahweh is either sadistic and creates disabilities deliberately, or he is is incompetent and lets them happen accidentally. A perfect example of this:

Chapter 5

It seems to me that the average employer would react to Moses’ request in 5:3 exactly the same way Pharaoh does. (The fact that the Israelites are slaves rather than just employees is irrelevant here). Time off to go and pray? Not a chance – prayer is on your own time, and so it should be. Separation of church and state and all that.

Chapter 6

Moses and Aaron were the product of an incestuous relationship (v 20). I wonder why the Moody bible institute omitted this fact from the charming ‘family values’ video I shared yesterday.
